Delta Tau grows bigger and better
To cope with significant expansion over the past couple of years Delta Tau UK has moved into new facilities in Clacton, Essex . The new site boasts modern offices, meeting rooms, storage and a development laboratory/workshop.
The move follows substantial new business from the scientific, engineering and research community – principally from new global Synchrotron ring light source facilities in the UK , Australia and the USA . Delta Tau, for so many years having set the benchmark for super accurate motion control and data acquisition, has stolen a lead globally as a specialist in the specific needs of these advanced synchrotron developments.
One recent development is for Brookhaven at the USA 's new National Synchrotron Light Source II that will have over sixty beamlines (see full story in this newsletter).
This development prompted further design and research by Delta Tau UK into simplifying the cabling, power supplies and interfacing for the Geo Brick LV, used extensively within the Diamond Light synchrotron ring in Oxfordshire. Andy Joslin, Delta Tau's UK managing director commented: “Our new facilities accommodate the increasing amount of research and development we're completing for scientific projects, plus it gives us increased storage for the substantial amounts of equipment we must stock for these customers”. He added, “Increased space has also enabled us to expand the technical support team and ensure customers are served continuously on both a local and international level”.
